NATIONAL BOARD EXAMINATIONS:      
If applicant graduated on or after January 1, 1970 but before January 1, 1989 applicant must have Part I, Part II and Physiotherapy.

If applicant graduated on or after January 1, 1989 but before January 1, 2002 applicant must have Part I, Part II, Part III and Physiotherapy.

If applicant graduated on or after January 1, 2002 applicant must have Part I, Part II, Part III, Part IV and Physiotherapy.

All applicants will be required to pass a Jurisprudence examination.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  Min. # years pre-professional education required for licensure: 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours. Applicants who graduate from a chiropractic educational institution on or after June 30, 2010 shall possess a bachelor, masters, or doctorate degree from an institution accredited by a national accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of the US Department of Education. Foreign educated applicants must meet the appropriate equivalent.  Contact gboard office or see website for updated requirements effective after this publication.  
  Accreditation for Chiropractic Programs/Institutions: Accredited school or college approved by the Ohio board. Board gives final approval of colleges regardless of status.
         
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATES OF FOREIGN COLLEGES:  Must be graduate of a Board approved college. Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College currently accepted. Anglo-European College of Chiropractic, Institut Francais De Chiropratique, School of Chiropractic Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, and MacQuarie University are not approved by the Board.
         
SUMMARY OF SCOPE OF PRACTICE:

The practice of chiropractic is the utilization of the relationship between the musculoskeletal structures of the body, the spinal column and the nervous system, in the restoration and maintenance of health, in connection with which patient care is conducted with due regard for first aid, hygienic, nutritional, and rehabilitative procedures and the specific vertebral adjustment and manipulation of the articulations and adjacent tissues of the body. The use of X-ray for diagnostic purposes is permitted. The use of acceptable clinical and laboratory diagnostic procedures is permitted.
