Exam Dates: All candidates applying after 1/1/98 must have NBCE Parts I, II, III, & IV - no additional exams required.

Program Criteria: CCE school or state association programs approved. 15 hours in Clinical Sciences; (if practice in GA) 4 hours Risk Management and/or Ethics, 1 hour GA Laws and Rules; (if practice is not in GA 5 hours of Risk Management and /or Ethics.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  Min. # years pre-professional education required for licensure: High school diploma, two years general college (60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours)
No requirement for 4-year degree planned.  
  Accreditation for Chiropractic Programs/Institutions: Council on Chiropractic Education or a board approved successor or a chiropractic school or college which is actively seeking accreditation from the Council on Chiropractic Education or a board approved successor, which requires a four-year standard college course and is approved by the board.
         
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATES OF FOREIGN COLLEGES:   College must submit proof of the education on which basis it was evaluated to be equivalent. Contact board for specific information.
         
SUMMARY OF SCOPE OF PRACTICE:

The term chiropractic as used in the chapter of the Georgia Law means the adjustment of the articulation of the human body, including ilium, sacrum and coccyx, and in the use of electric, X-ray photography for diagnostic purposes. Doctors of Chiropractic shall have the right to adjust patients according to specific chiropractic methods and shall observe public health regulations, sign health certificates, reporting to the proper health officers the same as other practitioners. Doctors of Chiropractic shall not prescribe or administer medicine to patients, perform surgery, nor practice obstetrics or osteopathy.

Yes; BRIEF SUMMARY: Licensed, in good standing, for sports or specific performing arts event. Limited to members, coaches, and/or official staff of the team or event for which that chiropractor is designated. In the event that services are requested by a specific athlete or performer, the practice of chiropractic shall be limited to services performed for that individual only. Also - limited to that venue of the event or designated treatment area. Board has authority to audit, review or inspect the venue and chiropractic services. Must practice within Georgia scope and comply with Georgia rules and regulations. Cannot use electrical therapeutic modalities unless in compliance with Georgia laws and rules.
