Note: The official recognition of chiropractic came in 1988 by the Direccion General de Profesiones, and the authorization to form the Colegio de Profesionistas Cientifico-Quiropracticos de Mexico.  Since that time, Mexican chiropractors have been able to apply and get the Cedula Profesional-chiropractic license.
Chiropractors wishing to practice in Mexico may have their professional qualification "revalidated."  That is, a D.C. must prove he/she has graudated from an accredited chiropractic college.  The process is a long one since this is the official recognition by the Government of Mexico.
An official recommendation is necessary in writing by CPCQM.  The diploma must be notarized by the country where he/she graduated from and then sealed by the Mexican Consulate or by the Mexican Embassy.  The official college transcripts also have to be translated into Spanish by a notarized or official translator.  These papers must then be officially recognized by the Ministry of Foreign Relations before the process of re-validation can get started.  It is important to note that the Mexican Government only recognizes chiropractic institutions which have a four-year chiropractic currculum.  The Professional Social Service is necessary which implies a 6-month service of at least 480 hours performed without any honorarium.  (Compiled from CPCQM reports).
