SUMMARY OF SCOPE OF PRACTICE:

A registered chiropractor shall not (a) prescribe or administer drugs or perform surgery; (b) give treatment for dislocations or the reduction of fractures; (c) administer physiotherapy except as a secondary adjunctive therapy employed as an aid to treatment when needed. R.S.P.E.I. 1974, Cap. C-8,s.10. (1) A registered chiropractor may have the use of diagnostic procedures including roentgenological, laboratory, clinical and physical, with the exception of any requiring drugs or surgery. (2) A registered chiropractor may employ as an aid to treatment and as secondary adjunctive therapies: exercise, nutritional supplement, diet, electrotherapy and thermotherapy, R.S.P.E.I. 1974, Cap. C-8, s.11.
